Welcome to the Black Gold Rush!

During the Black Gold Challenge, which began in October 2006, CRD residents reduced over 800 tons of greenhouse gas emissions by composting in their own backyards! If you'd like to find out your greenhouse gas reductions from composting, the Black Gold Calculator will continue to be available online.
